  • Designed a PCB to house all surface mount components

  • Helped a team member find a way to sniff a Bluetooth signal using an Ubertooth One to show the validity of our project

Practical Special Effects Class Engineering Lead
08/18 - 12/18
  • Collaborated with a group to create an arm breaking special effect for a class project that consisted of animatronics, puppetry, a fake prosthetic arm we created made of rubber, and an actor for a class demo reel

  • Designed the animatronics and puppetry for the arm

  • Learned from the Stan Winston School and other professionals to hone animatronic/special effects skills

TxTPEG Student Engineering Council Representative and Corporate Vice President
08/16 - Present
  • Represented the Texas Theme Park Engineering Group in the Cockrell School of Engineering’s Student Engineering Council

  • Contacted and scheduled guest speakers from companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Garner Holt Productions, Herschend Family Entertainment, etc. to speak at general meetings

  • Visited multiple themed entertainment areas to learn the engineering side of theme parks and the entertainment industry

  • Networked with attractions and amusement park experts at the Fall IAAPA EXPO in 2016 and 2017, and the 2018 Spring ASTM International F24 committee meeting to gain an in depth look of how to get a foot in the industry

Texas Theme Park Engineering Group’s Project Team    08/17 - Present
  • Designed a haunted house on campus with fellow TXTPEG members and created a creepy Arduino teddy bear animatronic that scared people through LED eyes and a rotating neck using an ultrasonic sensor powered by an Arduino to sense when a person was near

  • Programmed a group made pinball machine and created a PCB that acted as an Arduino shield using Eagle to house all the electronics that included a dot matrix display, touch sensors, an arcade push button, and a multi colored programmable LED strip

GE Brilliant Tailgate Botluck Showcase

09/16

  • Created 3-D printed animatronic eyeballs that used voice recognition with an Arduino to move for a showcase hosted by GE

  • Enhanced Arduino programming skills and learned the process of creating projects

Microsoft HoloLens App Development

11/16 - Present

  • Currently learning the basics of creating an application for Microsoft’s HoloLens

  • Uses Unity and C# to create three dimensional objects that can interact with the user through augmented reality

Intro to Embedded Systems Final Project Game

01/16 - 05/16

  • Developed a video game using a Texas Instruments microcontroller with a classmate that used an LCD screen, switches, resistors, capacitors, LEDs, potentiometers, and an amplifier for the user to interface with the device

  • Created a program with over 1,000 lines of code and increased knowledge of hardware/software interfacing

President of Technology Student Association at Hanna High School

08/11 - 05/15

  • Earned 3rd place for VEX robotics and animatronics and 1st and 7th place in a systems control competition at the state level

  • Earned 8th place in a systems control competition, 19th place in robotics, and 5th place in animatronics at the national level

Work Experience
Electrical Engineering Intern at Austin Panic Room

09/18 - Present

  • Debugged Arduino electronic props and removed the bugs from the Arduino code

  • Added sensors to electronic props such as a push button to make prop interfacing easier for clients

  • Soldered PCBs to be used as an Arduino shield for the electronic props in other locations around Texas

  • Created a server for operators to check the status of electronic props and activate/deactivate props

  • Part of the room creative design team

Embedded Systems Electrical Engineering Intern at Trident Research LLC.

05/18 - 08/18

  • Worked as an intern for the Let ‘Em Play division and added Bluetooth 5.0 to their Wild Thing adapter while also creating proof of concept tests for components to be used in the adapter and future technologies

  • Familiarized with Bluetooth GATT profiles and programmed a Silicon Labs Bluetooth module using C++ to function as a computer mouse using a switch joystick and send/receive data for Bluetooth modules to be used in future Trident technologies

  • Developed a C# user interface with Visual Studios to connect with the module to showcase its functionalities
